BrainSTEM field mission / playable now

ROV Dash

One research vehicle. One control. A trench full of split-second engineering decisions.

MISSION OBJECTIVE

Travel deeper, recover energy cells, and keep the ROV intact.

Hold Space, W, the Up Arrow, a mouse click, or a touch to make the ROV rise. Release to descend. Avoid obstacles and collect energy cells. Touching a glowing mod pod deploys a mechanized vehicle with its own controls; the vehicle absorbs one hit before the ROV ejects and the run continues.

Ocean engineering challenge

ROV Dash

Pilot an ROV through the trench, collect energy cells, and balance thrust with buoyancy to avoid hazards. Grab a glowing mod pod to switch vehicles and absorb one hit.

01 / PILOT

One input. Constant adjustment.

Hold Space, W, Arrow Up, click, or touch to fire the thrusters and rise. Release to descend. The deeper you travel, the faster the current moves.

02 / READ THE WATER

Every obstacle asks for a different line.

  • Contact mines
  • Live cables
  • Pipe gates
  • Jelly swarms
  • Tracking torpedoes

Spot a glowing mod pod? Grab it. Each one deploys a mechanized vehicle with its own control scheme — and it takes one hit so your ROV doesn't have to.

  • Gravity Sub · tap to flip ballast
  • Manta Jet · tap to pulse thrust
  • Trench Crawler · jump & slam
03 / RECOVER

Bring the energy home.

Collect yellow energy cells as you travel. Your best depth stays saved on this device, ready for the next mission.

Want to pilot something you built yourself?

ROV Dash takes its cue from BrainSTEM's real underwater robotics programmes, where students design the frame, wire the controls, test the buoyancy, and guide their own machine through the water.
